  Insty-Prints also has High Speed Scanning.  This allows us to scan thousands of pages for legal discovery, insurance documentation, medical archives or other needs where distributing or storing large amounts of paper is simply not practical.  We then convert them to the popular Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format for which almost everyone has the free Adobe Acrobat reader.

These files are then burned to CD's at the rate of about 9,000 pages per CD and of course we can make duplicate CD's for distribution or storage which cuts down significantly on your costs.

  Insty-Prints has proficiency in automation of the electronic Bates Numbering process.  Our methodology starts with the very first page and electronically "stamps" the starting number on the page as well as any other identifying text. It then continues on through the entire set of documents, page by page, adding the electronic number to each and every page.  As each page is stamped, the bates number is incremented by 1.  By doing this, we can ensure that, one, every page gets stamped and no pages are missed, and two, that the number is in a consistent location on every page.
 

  Even with these technological advances we haven't forgotten that different situations have different needs.  Our technology also allows for us to imprint the Bates numbers on small labels which are then hand placed on every single page.  This of course preserves the original documents while including the Bates numbering on originals as well as copies.

Bates numbering is a technique used to allow documents to be shared by multiple parties with a guarantee that all parties are using the exact same document. Obviously, when many different parties need to have access to the same files, it is critical to provide some way to ensure that the information given to Party 1 is exactly the same as that given to Party 2. This is what bates numbering does.

In 1987, when Insty-Prints started working with Legal Professionals, the numbering process was strictly a manual process. There were some obvious challenges with this process. First of all, since it is a manual process, it is quite time consuming. Every page must be manually stamped, one at a time. While we became quite expert at doing this, it is still a big project. Since every page must be sequentially numbered, it is critical that no pages be missed during the stamping process. This means that speed took a distant second to quality control.

Today, with state-of-the-art systems in place, scanning large volumes of documents is handled automatically, adding the bates number in electronic format is, again turned over to the software and saving, printing multiple copies and archiving to CD's in the popular .PDF format is all digital.....and it takes days instead of weeks.
